How Long Does It Take to Lose Weight Once You’re Ketogenic?

I’m frequently asked about how long it takes for keto to kick in after you start a low-carb diet. It depends on your body type, how you respond to the diet, and lots of other factors. I’ve got some answers for you.

Short-term Weight Loss

If you’re looking for rapid weight loss as a means to a better life, you might be interested in a keto diet. While it’s difficult to know for sure, most people lose about 2–3 pounds a week on a keto diet, which is a great start. Whether you’re preparing for a bikini body season or just want to slim down for summer, keto can help with quick weight loss.

The thing to keep in mind about keto is that it’s a dietary pattern, not a quick fix. You have to follow the guidelines to see real results, so be sure to put in the time and effort. That’s why I always emphasize the importance of finding a support system – it makes it much easier to get through the tough times when you’re following a new diet, especially when you’re following a diet that is new to you.

Long-term Weight Loss

If you’re looking for long-term weight loss as a way of life, following a keto diet might not be the best option. A keto diet restricts the amount of carbs you eat, and depending on how much you eat, it can take a while for your body to get used to the new eating habits. Once your body starts to crave more carbs, you’ll quickly start seeing weight gain. If you’re determined to lose weight following a keto diet, you might consider trying a more moderate approach, like the LCHF diet. While less restrictive than keto, the LCHF diet allows for more flexibility in the amount of carbs you consume.

The bottom line is that there’s no one-size-fits-all approach to losing weight, and the right diet for one person can be the wrong diet for another. What you need to do is figure out what works best for you. If you’re interested in trying a diet that has worked well for others, by all means, go for it! Just be sure to do your research first and make sure you’re not committing to anything you might regret later in life. Thanks for reading! I’d love to hear from you.
