Have you ever tried to lose weight only to find yourself back in the same old rut? Most people have and it’s a sad reality that most resort to unhealthy habits and lack of motivation to break the cycle. But there is hope! With hypnosis, you’ll be able to make the switch to a healthier lifestyle and set yourself up for lasting weight loss. Let’s find out how hypnosis can help you lose weight and stay motivated.
How Does Hypnosis Work?
Hypnosis is all the rage these days and for good reason. This form of therapy is a proven method of changing the behaviors and the way you think which in turn makes you feel better and results in weight loss. How does it work?
When you’re in hypnosis, you’re in a heightened state of attention and awareness. You’ll be able to focus on and understand the underlying causes of your bad habits and emotional eating. After you’ve identified these causes, you’ll be better positioned to change your thoughts and behaviors. To illustrate how this works, let’s take a closer look at emotional eating.
Why Do You Eat When You’re Emotionally Stressed?
Eating is a complex behavior and there are a number of different factors that could cause you to devour food when you’re feeling emotional pain, stress, or anxiety. Regardless of the reasons why you eat when you’re upset, identifying the triggers is the key to shedding those extra pounds and becoming healthier. If you’re regularly experiencing emotional eating, it’s time to investigate what’s fueling your emotions. Some possible answers include:
- You feel lonely, so you comfort yourself by diving into a bag of potato chips
li>You think about your recent loss, so you eat to cope
li>You feel rejected, so you eat to self-soothe
li>You feel guilty, so you eat to compensate
li>You binge-watch TV show after TV show, so you end up consuming way more calories than usual
li>You get bored, so you pull out your phone and start looking at cat videos
What Do You Think Is Making You Emotional?
Once you’ve determined the root cause of your emotional eating, you can begin to change the way you think and feel. Instead of dwelling on the negative aspects of your reality, you’ll be able to focus on the positive. In so doing, you’ll shift your mood and begin to feel more inspired to take action. In the next section, we’ll discuss how you can use hypnosis to change the way you think about food and eating.
How To Lose Weight With Hypnosis: A Step-by-Step Guide
Everyone has bad days and being on a diet isn’t easy. It’s natural for your mood to fluctuate and for you to feel frustrated, disheartened, or even desperate at times. That’s why it’s crucial to find ways to empower yourself during these moments. One of the best things you can do for your mental well-being is to develop the habit of meditating or practicing yoga. The breathing exercises alone can boost your mood and give you a feeling of empowerment. You can also enlist the help of a personal trainer to get you through those initial tough days and help you establish good habits.
Once you’ve managed to stay on track for a few weeks, it’s time to take a step back and reassess your efforts. Were you able to integrate yoga and meditation into your daily routine? Have you been able to keep up your workouts with the help of a personal trainer? How does your diet look?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, then congratulations! You’re officially a part of the club. But if you answered no to all three, it’s time to pick up where you left off before taking a break. From my own experience, I can tell you that the answer to this question is frequently no and it’s very difficult to lose weight if you don’t believe you can. So before you hit the sack, it’s important to figure out why you’re not able to lose weight and what you can do about it. The first step is to try and pinpoint exactly why you’re gaining weight in the first place. What are you eating that’s making you heavier?
For some people, it’s obvious: they spend most of their time sitting in front of a laptop or TV screen, so they consume lots of fast food and sweets. For others, it can be a bit more difficult to pinpoint the root cause of their excess weight. In these cases, it’s best to take a step back and examine how they’re feeling. Are they stressed? Overwhelmed? Angry? Depressed?
Once you’ve determined the underlying cause of your weight gain, it’s time to change the way you think. How? By using hypnosis! Simply follow these steps to begin losing weight with hypnosis:
1. Pick An Hypnotic Induction
To begin losing weight with hypnosis, you’ll need to pick an induction. An induction is a hypnotic suggestion that’ll help you relax and prepare for sleeping. It’s usually shorter and simpler than a full therapy session and it can be easily tailored to suit your needs. At the end of the day, you’ll simply need a few minutes to get relaxed and ready for the suggestions to take effect.
2. Create A Safe Place
Make sure you have a safe place where you can relax, close your eyes, and get a good night’s sleep. It’s important to choose a quiet and comfortable place where you won’t be disturbed by noises or devices. If possible, get a room at a hotel that has a quiet and comfortable bed and offers peace and relaxation. You might also want to read a book or listen to some smooth jazz to help you relax.
Once you’ve picked a safe and comfortable place, it’s time to move on to the next step.
3. Set The Timer For 15 Minutes
To begin losing weight rapidly and safely with hypnosis, you’ll need to set your alarm a little early in the morning so that you can sleep through it peacefully. Unfortunately, this is usually when your dog is getting up for no reason and making a lot of noise. So if possible, wait until your dog has gone to sleep before setting the alarm or get a bird cage and keep it by your bed so they can’t bother you during the night. Setting an early hour alarm means you’ll have to get up anyway and do something about that weight, so it might as well be done under hypnosis!
4. Find Your Inner Voice
What is your unique voice? That’s what you’ll need to focus on and concentrate on speaking in a low, soothing voice. As you continue practicing, this unique voice will become second nature and will replace your old instincts. When you talk in your unique voice, you’ll sound calm, collected, and in control. This is what you want to project whenever you’re looking in the mirror or speaking with your friends and family.
Before you start losing weight, it’s important to establish and become comfortable with your unique voice. Instead of aiming for someone else’s voice, emulate the calming and natural flow of your own voice.
5. Create Positive Mental Images
To create positive mental images, you’ll need to think of something that makes you happy, inspires you, and gets you excited about taking action. For example, if you’re having trouble getting motivated to lose weight, you might want to think of something that makes you happy and excited. Maybe you’ve been dreaming of a specific dress code and are over the moon when you finally see a style that you like? Or maybe you’ve always wanted to visit Italy, but haven’t known how to make the travel plans?
Whatever it may be, you need to find that thing that gets you excited and motivated. Once you’ve determined what it is, focus on that thing every day and eventually, you’ll start to see changes for the better. You can also try out different techniques to find the one that works best for you. Some people prefer to listen to music, whereas others find it more helpful to read their favorite book or scroll through social media.
6. Practice In The Morning
If you want to lose weight successfully and quickly, you’ll need to practice between three and five times a week. It’s best to practice in the morning to take advantage of your energy before it begins to flag. The earlier you practice, the more you’ll be able to harness your energy and focus on the task at hand. Morning practice also helps you establish and maintain good habits which will subsequently help you lose weight.
