How Much Weight Did Randy Jackson Lose?

Most of us can’t help but notice the change in Randy Jackson after he decided to go on a diet. And it’s not just his weight loss that caught our attention, it was his transformation as well. How Much Did He Lose?

Phase One: 5’10” To 5’11”

In early 2018, Randy’s height started decreasing. One day, he was standing at a five-star restaurant with his family and friends. The next day, he was spotted at a baseball game in Arizona wearing tennis shoes. A couple of weeks later, Randy was seen in London, England wearing heels (not flats) for the first time in years. Clearly, Randy’s body is adjusting to his new height and it’s throwing off his weight.

Phase Two: From 5’11” To 5’8″

Shifting gears a bit, Randy’s weight loss then took a sharp U-turn. Starting in mid-2018, the “Don’t Stop Til You Win” singer put on an incredible display of stamina, losing more than twenty pounds in the process. At one point, Randy was seen walking through a field of sunflowers in Arizona with his shirt off and carrying a basket filled with spinach, tomatoes, and okra. That’s how much weight he was able to lose in such a short period of time.

Phase Three: Plateau

We expected the weight loss to stop once Randy reached a certain plateau. However, that did not happen. In fact, Randy hit a weight loss low point in October 2018 and gained back a significant amount of weight. One of the singer’s biggest supporters, the actor George Takei, even weighed in on the matter:

“I’m not sure if you noticed, but [Randy] has a bit of an eating disorder. He needs to lose some weight. It would be a good idea to get him on a proper diet.”

Why Was He Unable To Maintain Weight Loss?

Many people would’ve given up if they found themselves in Randy’s situation. The singer is undoubtedly attractive, but his body type works against him. Randy’s natural charisma and charm make him a perfect target for all sorts of diet tricks. That’s why he was unable to maintain weight loss. It took the singer years to figure out his body and what made him happy. And while he’s still not where he wants to be, Randy’s changed the game for the better.

Randy replied, “Thanks, I’ve got this covered.” And you know what? He did.

It wasn’t easy for Randy. In fact, it was quite the opposite. But he kept on pressing forward and eventually figured out what made him happy. And it wasn’t just about the weight loss. As Randy says himself, he discovered “a new side of himself” that he never knew existed. And that’s what made all the difference.

Even now, when we ask Randy about his weight loss, he rarely gives a direct answer. Instead, he points us to the the power of positivity. “When you look in the mirror and you don’t like what you see, that’s when the problems begin,” he tells us. “If you love what you see when you look in the mirror, that’s when you know you’re doing everything right.”
