MCU Contribution:
Pratt has been a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe since 2014’s Guardians of the Galaxy. Since then he has appeared in multiple TV and movie roles. He is most well-known for his role as Peter Quill in the 2017 film, Gamora. In early 2018, it was officially announced that Pratt would be reprising Peter Quill in Avengers: Endgame . The film will close out the MCU after 19 movies and the upcoming Captain Marvel.
Off-Set Diet:
Since 2015 Pratt has been following a modified version of the ketogenic diet plan developed by Dr. Phil McGraw. In Guardians of the Galaxy, Pratt was a bit underweight so Dr. McGraw prescribed a plan to get him back to his ideal weight. Instead of following a regular diet as most people do, the ketogenic diet works by restricting the amount of carbohydrates you eat and relying heavily on fat-burning supplements. On Endgame, Pratt appears to have gone back to his pre-Guardians of the Galaxy weight and is again seeking a way to shift the movie-star spotlight away from his midsection.
How He Followed The Plan:
According to Pratt, following a keto diet is not as hard as you might think. First off, it is only advisable to do so in moderation. Too much of anything is never good and can quickly turn into a diet disaster. The second key to following the keto diet is to make sure you have all of the necessary equipment to create and consume ketones.
Pratt took to social media to share the benefits of a keto diet, “As a result of following the Keto diet for about a year now, I’ve lost 18 pounds, my cholesterol has dropped, and my blood pressure has normalized. Plus, I no longer have to deal with pesky diabetes. I’m very happy to report that my body is grateful for this lifestyle change and has rewarded me with increased mental clarity and athletic performance. While it’s not always easy, sticking to the Keto diet has made all the difference in my life.”
Keto Diet – The Science Behind It All:
What is ketosis, and what is its role in our health?
Ketosis is a metabolic state in which your body switches to using ketones instead of glucose for energy. Ketones are produced by the thyroid gland in your neck, and they provide your brain with fuel while you are sleeping. The ketone bodies BOH 3 and BOH 4 are more stable and less prone to damage than blood sugar, and that makes them more effective for brain and body function.
Keto dieting shifts the body’s energy production toward ketones, which are more stable and accessible for the body to use as a fuel source. This makes it easier for the body to obtain the energy it needs without risking a dangerous blood sugar spike. A few of the benefits of the keto lifestyle include the following:
