It wasn’t always this way. Once when Jesus was asked if it was possible to receive the Holy Spirit, he replied, “You cannot drink the whole cup. You will be left thirsting.” Then he added, “The Spirit is willing, but the body is weak.”
What exactly does this mean? Simply put, it means that although the Holy Spirit is eager to help you change your life for the better, he can only do so much on his own. The rest is up to you. You have to be determined to make the right choices and actively engage in the process of changing your life for the better.
You may be wondering what you need to do to get the Holy Spirit’s help in changing your life for the better. As we’ve already established, the Spirit is willing, but the body is weak. What does this mean for you? It means that you have to do the work. You have to be the one who adds the things from above so that you can have the life you deserve. This can only happen if you are willing to put in the effort. The good news is, the Holy Spirit is willing to give you the strength to change whatever you need to change.
How does all of this relate to losing weight? Let’s say you’ve been struggling with your weight for a long time. You may have tried going on diets, joining a gym, or trying out new workout routines with little or no success. Things seemed to come easy for your friends, family, or other people you know, and that’s made you feel less worthy. Why should you be any different? You may have even started to believe the lie that you tell yourself over and over again: that you’re not smart enough, strong enough, or good enough to lose weight. Let’s face it, we’ve all been there. We’ve all believed the lie. We’ve all taken the easy way out and chosen to stay in our comfort zone.
But here’s the thing: your comfort zone might be keeping you from the life you were designed for. You see, God didn’t just give us the ability to lose weight; he gave us the ability to be strong, happy, and healthy. This is what Genesis 2:15 states: “So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.”
In other words, your comfort zone might be locking you out of the happiness that comes from doing what you were actually born to do. Remember: the Holy Spirit helps you with the small tasks so that you can focus on the bigger tasks. For example, if praying for someone’s salvation is a bit overwhelming (it can be when you’re not used to it), the Holy Spirit will give you the strength to do it. However, if you’ve been avoiding praying because you think it’s not your place, or because you don’t know how, the Holy Spirit will help you find the strength to start.
The truth is, you were never meant to be limited by your comfort zone. If you’re not comfortable with being around certain people, groups, or environments, then that’s exactly what the devil wants. He wants to keep you in the dungeon of your comfort zone so that you can’t be free to be yourself, share your opinions, or follow your dreams. We’ve all heard the saying, “The devil is the source of all evil.” He’s been around for a long time, and he knows how to keep us small, thinking we’ve got nothing to offer. So if you’re feeling limited, oppressed, or discouraged, it might be time to ask yourself, “Is the devil winning?”
Take A Step Back
If you’re going to be of any use to yourself or others, you have to be willing to see where you’re going. You have to be able to put down clear tracks so that you can follow what’s next. If you have ever lost your way, or if you feel like you’re constantly spinning your wheels, then it’s time to take a step back and think things through clearly once again. Ask friends for help if you need it. Take a walk, eat an vegetables, or go to the shrink if you think that’s what’s best for you. But whatever you do, don’t go back to your old ways. Don’t make the same mistake twice. Instead, make a plan and work hard to stick to it. Never, ever give up. This is what matters. As long as you keep trying, you never know.
Be Realistic
When you’re at your lowest point, it’s easy to doubt yourself and your ability to change. So if you’re at that point, it may be a good idea to put your health and well-being first. Even if you think you’re not at risk of getting seriously sick because of your weight, deep down you might feel differently. This is why it’s important to be realistic about your goals and the process of getting there. It’s a common issue for people to want to change everything about themselves at the same time. This can bring about serious problems, stress, and even physical harm. So, instead, try changing little by little. This will help you avoid major stress and keep your momentum going. It also shows that you’re willing to be responsible for your own actions and that you aren’t just looking for someone to hand you a magic pill or program that will change everything for you. We’re all looking for that, but that’s not how life works. You have to be responsible for your own actions and follow the plans that work best for you. This is the best way to ensure that you actually will reach your goals and that the changes you’ve made will be for the better.
Exercise
One of the most important things you can do for your health and well-being is to get some exercise. This doesn’t just mean going to the gym and running on a treadmill for an hour. Sure, a lot of that is great for you, but what about playing sports with your friends, going for walks, or taking up hula dancing? Find something that you enjoy and that makes you feel good and challenge yourself. The more you engage in, the more you’ll notice a difference. Small changes like this can make a big difference, and it will give you something to look forward to each week. Plus, it’s great to have something to look forward to! The important thing is to find something that you enjoy and that makes you feel good. This will naturally increase your motivation, so you’ll be glad to get up and do it every day. Not to mention the health benefits.
Don’t Listen To Naysayers
Believe it or not, there are people out there who want to bring you down. They may try to convince you that you’re not good enough, that your dreams are unrealistic, or that you’re not smart enough to achieve what you want. If you want to be successful, you have to be willing to ignore these types of people. This doesn’t mean that you have to agree with everything your friends or family say. You may have good reasons for not wanting to change certain things about yourself. But, at the end of the day, you have to decide for yourself what’s best for you. Some people can be really helpful by giving you honest feedback, but as with everything else, you must be responsible for deciding what’s best for you. When you find yourself in a place where you’re not comfortable, it can be hard to trust your instincts. But, if you keep doing what you’re doing, you’ll never know what could have happened. We’re talking about living a life that’s bigger, better, and more inspiring than you ever thought possible. So, make the decision today to take a step forward and pursue the life you were meant to live. You’re worth it.
